Job summary

Sundt Construction is seeking a Project Engineer II to serve as the technical source of information for the project. You will work with owners, architects, engineers, subcontractors, and suppliers and may assist with supervising Field Engineers.

The role advances through three steps (I, I1, Senior) with progression based on experience. The candidate should have a four-year construction-related degree or equivalent training and 3–4 years of experience in construction engineering, along with

Qualifications

• Advanced knowledge of construction engineering technology, codes, standards, etc., and understanding interdependence of functions.
• Four-year construction-related degree or equivalent technical training and related experience (3–4 years).
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills; ability to supervise Field Engineer positions if required.

Responsibilities

• Understand PMP components and change management processes to ensure project execution.
• Develop procurement schedule and coordinate submittals with trades; review submittals for contract compliance.
• Understand contracts and costs; administer budgeting and cost-control processes within approved budgets.
• Maintain as-built contract documents and close-out requirements (manuals, warranties, etc.).
• Participate in concrete form design and takeoffs for concrete, asphalt, earthwork, and utilities as needed.
• Plan, develop and supervise project team members to ensure relentless execution of the project.
• Prepare and maintain quantity reporting mechanisms; prepare meeting minutes and project logs.
• Prepare and review change orders and cost-control budget adjustments; document distribution.
• Identify potential claims and mitigate effects to avoid disputes.
