Job summary

Sundt Construction in Charlotte, NC is seeking a Senior Project Engineer who serves as the technical source for the project, with thorough knowledge of construction documents, subcontracts, purchase orders and change orders. You’ll coordinate with owners, architects, engineers, subcontractors and suppliers, and may assist in supervising Field Engineers.

The position progresses through three steps (I, II, Senior); the Senior level applies to more than 6 years of experience or larger, more complex

Qualifications

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to supervise and mentor Field Engineers.
• Experience coordinating with owners, architects, engineers, subs, and suppliers.

Responsibilities

• Understand the project management plan and change management process to ensure execution.
• Develop procurement schedule and integrate with CPM schedule; coordinate submittals.
• Understand primes, subcontracts, purchase orders, and budgetary controls to stay within budget.
• Maintain As-built documents and close-out requirements including manuals and warranties.
• Assist with concrete form design and takeoffs for concrete, asphalt, earthwork, and utilities as needed.
• Plan, develop, and supervise project team to ensure relentless execution.
• Prepare quantity reporting mechanisms, meeting minutes, and project logs.
• Prepare and review change orders and distribute documents to stakeholders.
• Identify and mitigate potential claims to prevent impacts.
