Job summary

Dow in Knoxville, TN is seeking a Senior Production Engineer to optimize plant operations, resolve issues, and ensure safe, cost-efficient production of quality products. The role interfaces with plant and supply chain to meet business goals.

You will coordinate with operations and SMEs, apply MET and process automation, and drive continuous improvement with data, KPI review, and on-call responsiveness. A bachelor’s in engineering and 3+ years of experience are required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in engineering required.
• Chemical or mechanical engineering preferred.
• At least 3 years of relevant experience.
• US work authorization; no visa sponsorship.

Responsibilities

• Translate business production goals into plant targets.
• Coordinate with Integrated Supply Chain for planning and shipping.
• Determine shutdown timing with Supply Chain and Ops teams.
• Coach personnel on KPI tracking and performance records.
• Collaborate with operations and SMEs to improve performance.
• Leverage plant knowledge with Technology Center for solutions.
• Ensure MET is understood and used; apply process automation.
• Partner with experts for advanced troubleshooting.
• Diagnose asset utilization losses; document root causes.
• Review daily logbooks and alarms to monitor operations.
• Maintain daily KPI trends for optimum performance.
• Respond to plant issues and participate in on-call rotations.
• Lead in Raw Material Efficiency and yield/waste improvements.
• Ensure compliance with operating permits and site integration.
