Job summary

Dow in Knoxville, TN seeks a Senior Production Engineer to optimize plant operations, resolve production issues, and enable safe, low-cost production of high-quality products. The role requires broad knowledge to coordinate units and meet business goals.

The engineer interfaces with Supply Chain, applying expertise to improve short- and long-term performance, fosters safety and permit compliance, and drives the use of MET and process automation to enhance efficiency.

Qualifications

• A bachelor's degree in engineering is required; chemical or mechanical engineering preferred.
• At least 3 years of relevant experience.
• U.S. work authorization; no visa sponsorship for this position.

Responsibilities

• Translate business production goals into plant production goals.
• Coordinate with Integrated Supply Chain for planning and shipping.
• Determine shutdown timing with Supply Chain, Turnaround, and Operations.
• Coach plant personnel on KPI tracking and performance records.
• Work with operations to apply problem-solving and technical expertise.
• Support MET and process automation for plant performance.
• Lead troubleshooting and implement corrective actions during events.
• Document root causes of asset utilization losses.
• Review daily logbooks and alarm history to stay aligned with operations.
• Maintain and review KPI trends for optimum performance.
• Respond urgently to plant issues and emergencies; participate in on-call rotation.
• Act as unit technical expert during unplanned events.
