Job summary

Dow in Stockton, CA seeks a Senior Production Engineer to optimize plant operations, drive safe, cost-efficient production, and support supply chain integration. You will coordinate with operations, maintenance and SMEs to implement MET and automation tools.

Ideal candidates hold a bachelor’s degree in engineering with 3+ years’ experience and US work authorization. You will react quickly to issues, lead improvements, and ensure permits and compliance across the facility.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in engineering required; chemical or mechanical preferred.
• 3+ years of relevant experience in production/operations.
• US work authorization at time of hire; no visa sponsorship.

Responsibilities

• Translate business production needs into plant goals and actions.
• Coordinate with Supply Chain for planning, shipping, and materials.
• Determine shutdown timing with Supply Chain and Operations teams.
• Coach plant personnel on KPI tracking and performance reviews.
• Collaborate with operations and SMEs to optimize processes.
• Apply MET concepts and use process automation to improve performance.
• Lead troubleshooting and implement corrective actions during events.
• Identify root causes of asset utilization losses and document findings.
• Review daily logbooks and alarms to stay engaged in operations.
• Maintain daily KPI trends for optimal plant performance.
• Respond urgently to plant issues and participate in on-call rotations.
• Provide leadership during unplanned events and drive corrective actions.
• Improve Raw Material Efficiency, including yield and waste control.
• Ensure compliance with operating permits and site integration.
