Job summary

Databricks Inc. is seeking a Senior Counsel, Privacy to lead and mature our global privacy program, advise on complex regulatory matters, and enable AI-enabled privacy governance across the business. You will partner with compliance, security, and product teams to implement practical, scalable privacy controls.

The role requires deep expertise in GDPR/CCPA and data transfer frameworks, plus the ability to operate in a fast-paced tech environment and influence stakeholders at all levels.

Qualifications

• Experience building or leading a privacy program and advising on global privacy frameworks.
• Strong knowledge of GDPR/UK GDPR, CCPA/CPRA, EU AI Act, and cross-border data transfer mechanisms.
• Ability to work with senior management and translate law into practical guidance.

Responsibilities

• Advise on global privacy and data protection laws and regulatory developments.
• Build and mature the privacy program, including AI governance.
• Draft and negotiate data protection provisions in contracts (DPAs, SCCs).
• Develop DPIAs/PIAs, data mapping, and RoPA documentation.
• Design privacy notices, policy management, and training programs.
• Collaborate cross-functionally with commercial, compliance, and engineering teams.
• Provide general legal support across the privacy, data, and tech areas.
