Job summary

RTX is seeking a Sr. Principal Systems Engineer – Signal and Sensor Modeling Engineers for our Tucson, AZ team. You will craft physics-based modeling solutions in the DoD Space, developing technologies for EO/IR/RF domains and supporting AI algorithm design and hardware testing.

You will deploy cutting-edge modeling techniques, collaborate across disciplines, and mentor peers in EO/RF expertise. This is an onsite role based in Tucson, AZ.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Science, Physics, Mathematics or related STEM field and 10+ years of relevant experience.
• Experience applying object-oriented software design in C++ and C, plus MATLAB or Python for data evaluation.
• Experience with UNIX/Linux, Apple OS or Windows command line tools.
• Experience in electro-optics, radar processing, EO/IR/RF systems, energy transport, radar physics or related algorithms.
• Ability to obtain Interim Secret clearance; U.S. citizenship required for security clearance.

Responsibilities

• Champion novel solutions for advanced modeling techniques.
• Develop new C++ models in extensible, maintainable fashion.
• Deploy EO/RF phenomenology and advanced physics in software.
• Enable customer success through modeling solution adoption.
• Work across programming languages and build environments within an established product.
• Research and develop novel EO/RF modeling solutions.
• Coordinate with multiple teams to prioritize and solve complex problems.
• Mentor and share EO/RF expertise with the team.
