Job summary

RTX is seeking a Sr. Principal Systems Engineer - Signal and Sensor Modeling for an onsite role in Tucson, AZ. You will build advanced, physics-based models for EO/IR/RF domains, contribute to AI and hardware solutions, and collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver robust modeling capabilities.

The role emphasizes developing C++ models, deploying phenomenology through software, and mentoring peers in EO/RF modeling while supporting mission-critical DoD space programs.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Science, Physics, Mathematics, or related STEM field is required.
• 10+ years of relevant experience preferred.
• Experience with object-oriented software design in C++/C; MATLAB or Python for data evaluation.

Responsibilities

• Develop new C++ models in an extensible, maintainable way.
• Deploy EO/RF phenomenology and physics principles in software.
• Collaborate with multiple teams to prioritize and solve software and physics problems.
• Mentor team members on EO/RF modeling techniques.
• Research and develop novel EO/RF modeling solutions.
• Enable customer success through adoption of modeling solutions.
• Work across programming languages and build environments.
