Job summary

Raytheon in Tucson, AZ, seeks a Principal Systems Engineer - Signal and Sensor Modeling to join a close-knit software team. You will develop physics-based modeling for the DoD Space, focusing on EO/IR/RF domains and energy transport.

You will craft advanced C++ models, deploy EO/RF phenomenology, mentor colleagues, and collaborate across units to solve complex software and physics challenges in an onsite role with relocation support.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Science, Physics, Mathematics, or a related STEM field.
• Strong experience applying object-oriented design in C++, C, and MATLAB or Python for data evaluation.
• Proficiency with UNIX/Linux/OSX/Windows command line environments.
• Experience in electro-optics or radar processing, imaging EO/IR/RF systems, or related signal processing.
• Eligibility to obtain Interim Secret clearance and U.S. citizenship is required.

• Champion novel modeling techniques and drive solutions.
• Develop new C++ models in an extensible, maintainable way.
• Apply EO/RF phenomenology to software implementations.
• Enable customer success by adopting and using modeling solutions.
• Collaborate across teams to solve software and physics problems.
• Mentor peers and share EO/RF expertise.
• Assist in coordinating work across development teams.
