Job summary

RTX in Tucson seeks a Principal Systems Engineer to advance signal and sensor modeling in the DoD space. You will craft physics-based solutions for EO/IR/RF domains, develop robust C++ models, and collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver actionable software and hardware insights.

The role requires a Bachelor’s in a STEM field and extensive OO design experience, with eligibility for security clearance. Onsite work in Tucson, AZ, is required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Science, Physics, or Mathematics.
• 8+ years of relevant experience.
• Experience with object-oriented design in C++/C and MATLAB or Python.

Responsibilities

• Champion novel modeling techniques for advanced modeling.
• Develop new C++ models in an extensible and maintainable fashion.
• Deploy EO or RF phenomenology and physics principles in software.
• Enable customer success through adoption and utilization of modeling solutions.
• Work across programming languages and build environments to integrate solutions.
• Research and develop EO or RF modeling solutions.
• Coordinate with multiple development teams to solve complex problems.
• Mentor and share EO or RF expertise within the team.
