Job summary

Apex Companies is seeking a Senior Principal Engineer to lead multidisciplinary infrastructure projects from planning to construction in the Oregon and Washington region, with a focus on Oregon state agencies.

The role requires a PE license in OR and WA (or ability to obtain within six months), strong client management skills, and experience with roadway, bridge, and multimodal design. Expect collaboration with regional offices and a strategic growth focus.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering.
• 15+ years of progressive experience managing infrastructure projects for ODOT and/or local agencies in Oregon and Washington.
• PE license in OR and WA, or ability to obtain within six months.
• Experience leading multidisciplinary infrastructure design projects from pursuit through construction.
• Strong knowledge of ODOT Design Manual, AASHTO, MUTCD, and local standards.
• Experience with budgeting, scheduling, and client management.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office and AutoCAD Civil 3D.
• Excellent verbal, written, and presentation skills.
• Proven business development and client relationship experience.

Responsibilities

• Serve as Project Manager for multidisciplinary infrastructure projects with annual totals exceeding $3 million.
• Contribute to pursuit and capture of $2 million+ in annual business development.
• Lead business development for infrastructure projects across Oregon and NW regions.
• Develop and maintain strong client relationships and expand accounts.
• Mentor and develop junior engineers and project managers.
• Represent the firm at client meetings and industry events.
