Job summary

Apex Companies, LLC is seeking a Sr Principal Engineer to lead our infrastructure practice from Eastern Washington, with travel to Richland and Walla Walla. You will oversee multidisciplinary projects statewide, build key client relationships, and drive successful delivery across WA and OR.

The role emphasizes leadership, technical excellence, and active business development, aligning with our growth in public sector projects and multi-agency collaborations throughout the Northwest.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering required.
• 15+ years of progressive infrastructure project management experience in WA and OR.
• Professional Engineer license in WA and OR or ability to obtain within six months.
• Demonstrated leadership of multidisciplinary infrastructure design projects.
• Strong knowledge of WSDOT Design Manual, AASHTO, MUTCD and local standards.
• Experience with project budgeting, scheduling, and client management.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and AutoCAD Civil 3D.
• Excellent verbal, written, and presentation skills.
• Proven business development and client relationship experience.

Responsibilities

• Lead multidisciplinary infrastructure projects from planning through construction.
• Manage scope, schedule, budget, quality, and client satisfaction.
• Provide technical leadership for roadway, intersection, bridges, and multimodal projects.
• Coordinate teams across roadway, drainage, utilities, structures, traffic, and environment.
• Mentor and develop junior engineers and project managers.
• Represent the firm with clients and industry organizations to grow market presence.
