Job summary

Skanska is seeking a dynamic Preconstruction Manager to lead the preconstruction process across civil, structural, architectural, and MEP disciplines, delivering high-quality, cost-effective estimates and ensuring project scope and budget alignment.

You will collaborate with design, operations, and business development, challenge design assumptions, develop value-management options, plan procurement, and cultivate subcontractor relationships to optimize outcomes.

Qualifications

• 7+ years leading preconstruction/estimating teams across multiple disciplines (civil, structural, architectural, MEP).
• 5+ years producing/reviewing detailed cost estimates using advanced estimating tools and market insights.
• 5+ years of risk management, contract review, and value management capabilities.
• 5+ years coordinating design, operations, and business development; ability to present to clients and maintain confidentiality.
• Expertise in Value Management processes.
• Proficiency in MS Office (Excel/Word/PowerPoint).
• Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Architecture, Construction Management or equivalent, or 8 years of related experience with 7+ years in relevant roles.

Responsibilities

• Oversee the preconstruction process and resources to deliver high-quality, cost-effective services within scope and budget.
• Produce and review detailed estimates across civil, structural, architectural, and MEP disciplines using advanced tools and market insights.
• Collaborate with design, operations and business development; challenge design assumptions and track value-management options.
• Develop subcontractor relationships to optimize project outcomes and support procurement planning.
• Lead and mentor other estimators; champion Skanska’s values while ensuring confidentiality and consistent delivery of preconstruction deliverables.
