Job summary

Arcadis seeks a Principal System Planning and Studies Engineer to lead the PD&R team in North America, coordinating complex power system studies and client engagements. This senior role combines technical leadership with program management, ensuring compliance with codes and Arcadis policies.

Ideal candidates have 12+ years in power system planning, strong PSCAD/PSS/E skills, and a PE license; PhD is a plus. Travel up to 20% may be required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering required.
• Minimum 12 years in power system planning and studies.
• PE License is required.
• Experience with North American market operators (MISO, PJM, NE-ISO, NY-ISO, ERCOT, CAISO, SPP).
• Proficient with PSCAD and PSS/E; familiarity with PSLF, DigSILENT, TARA, or DSA Tools.

Responsibilities

• Lead and grow the System Planning & Studies team in Power Delivery & Renewables.
• Perform and coordinate load-flow, short-circuit, transient stability and related analyses.
• Develop improved planning processes, methodologies, and tools.
• Serve as Project/Proposal/Program/Account Manager and Technical Lead.
• Mentor junior engineers and liaison with clients, contractors, and vendors.
