Job summary

Arcadis is seeking a Principal System Planning and Studies Engineer to lead the Power Delivery & Renewable team in North America. The role emphasizes hands-on power system planning, client engagement, and project leadership across interconnection studies, load-flow and stability analyses.

You will coordinate with cross-functional PD&R teams, mentor engineers, and drive quality control while traveling up to 20% for client sites and meetings. A PE license and NA market experience are required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent is required.
• PE License is required.
• Experience with North American markets (MISO, PJM, NY-ISO, CAISO, ERCOT, etc.) is essential.
• Proficient with PSCAD and PSS/E for load-flow, short-circuit, and transient stability analyses.

Responsibilities

• Lead and manage System Planning & Studies team and coordinate with PD&R leadership.
• Perform and oversee power system analyses including load-flow, short-circuit, stability studies.
• Develop and improve planning processes, methodologies, and tools for quality and efficiency.
• Act as Project/Proposal/Program/Account Manager and Technical Lead for client engagement and delivery.
• Mentor junior engineers and ensure QA/QC on team outputs.
• Coordinate with multiple PD&R departments and support business development and project execution.
