Job summary

Arcadis is seeking a principal System Planning and Studies Engineer to lead the PD&R team in North America. You will oversee planning studies, coordinate with subteams, and deliver robust power system analyses for utility and developer clients. The role includes client engagement, project leadership, and travel up to 20% for site visits.

You bring 12+ years in power system planning, a PE license, and expert PSCAD/PSS/E skills, with experience across MISO, PJM, ERCOT, CAISO, and others.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering required.
• PE License certification required.
• 12+ years in Power System Planning and Studies.
• Experience with North American grid operators (MISO, PJM, NE-ISO, NY-ISO, ERCOT, CAISO, SPP).
• Proficiency with PSCAD and PSS/E software packages.

Responsibilities

• Manage and grow the System Planning & Studies team and ensure resource planning.
• Perform HVAC and HVDC power systems analysis: load-flow, short-circuit, transient stability.
• Lead development of enhanced planning processes, methodologies, and tools.
• Act as Project/Proposal/Program/Account Manager and Technical Lead for client goals.
• Mentor junior engineers and ensure QA/QC on work products.
• Engage with clients, contractors, and vendors to support BD and execution.
• Travel up to 20% to client sites, in North America and abroad.
