Job summary

Arcadis seeks a Principal System Planning and Studies Engineer to lead the PD&R team in North America, coordinating with Power Delivery, Renewables, Substation, Transmission and other units to deliver robust grid planning studies and technical leadership.

The role includes mentoring engineers, managing client engagements, and performing PSCAD/PSS/E analyses (load-flow, short-circuit, transient stability) while driving project execution for utility and developer clients.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering.
• Minimum 12 years of Power System Planning and Studies experience in North America.
• Proven experience with interconnection studies and system analysis.
• Proficient with PSCAD and PSS/E; familiar with PSLF, DigSILENT, or DSA Tools.
• PE License required.

Responsibilities

• Lead and grow the System Planning & Studies team.
• Perform load-flow, short-circuit, transient stability analyses.
• Develop and standardize planning processes, tools, and methodologies.
• Act as Project/Proposal/Program/Account Manager and Technical Lead.
• Mentor junior engineers and ensure QA/QC of work.
