Job summary

Arcadis seeks a Principal System Planning and Studies Engineer to lead the Power Delivery & Renewables team in North America. You will guide system planning, perform hands-on analyses, and shape project strategies with clients and internal stakeholders.

As a senior leader, you will mentor engineers, manage proposals, and ensure delivery quality across complex utility and developer projects, with up to 20% travel to client sites and meetings.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering.
• Minimum 12 years of relevant Power System Planning and Studies experience in North America.
• Experience leading planning/feasibility and interconnection studies for utilities.
• Proficient with PSCAD and PSS/E; familiarity with PSLF, DigSILENT, and DSA Tools; PE license required.

Responsibilities

• Manage and grow the System Planning & Studies team, coordinating with PD&R leadership and resource planning.
• Perform HVAC/HVDC power system analyses including load-flow, short-circuit, and dynamic studies.
• Lead development of enhanced planning processes, methodologies, and tools for quality and efficiency.
• Serve as Project Manager, Proposal Manager, Program Manager, Account Manager, and Technical Lead.
• Mentor junior engineers, conduct QA/QC, and participate in client and vendor meetings.
• Collaborate with cross-functional Power Delivery teams to ensure project execution and client satisfaction.
