Job summary

Arcadis is seeking a Sr. Power System Planning & Study Engineer to lead the Power Delivery study team in the USA. You will perform and supervise load-flow, short-circuit, transient stability analyses and interconnection studies using PSS/E, PSCAD and related tools.

The role requires at least 8 years in power system study and planning, NA market awareness, and collaboration across engineering disciplines. Up to 25% travel is expected, with a hybrid work model in the US.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering; Master’s degree preferred.
• Minimum 8 years of direct experience in power system study analysis and planning.
• Proficient with PSS/E, PSCAD, and PSS/E including load-flow, short-circuit and transient stability analysis.
• Familiar with NA Market Operators (e.g., MISO, PJM, CAISO, NY-ISO, ERCOT, etc.) policies and interconnection criteria.

Responsibilities

• Support, develop, and deliver complex power system study and planning projects for regulated, non-regulated, developer, or other clients.
• Perform and review power system analysis activities including load-flow, short-circuit, transient stability, electromagnetic transient, small-signal stability, system impact and reliability studies.
• Conduct planning and transient studies for compliance with standards and good engineering practice.
• Deliver thorough planning, study reports, and client deliverables meeting industry standards and quality.
• QA on client reports and cross-unit coordination for opportunities and proposals.
• Develop project scopes, budgets, and proposals; travel up to 25% to client sites.
