Job summary

Arcadis seeks a Sr. Power System Planning & Study Engineer to join the Power Delivery team in the USA. This technical role coordinates the Power System Planning & Study team, performing HVDC/HVAC feasibility studies and interconnection analyses for North America and globally.

You will collaborate with Substation, Transmission, Protection & Control, and Renewables teams, support cross‑staffing, and travel up to 25% to client sites. Excellent communication is essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering; Master’s degree preferred.
• Minimum 8 years of direct experience with power system study analysis and planning.
• Proficient with PSS/E, PSCAD; experience with PSLF, DigSILENT, or DSA Tools is desirable.
• Familiar with North American market operator policies and grid interconnection criteria.

Responsibilities

• Support, develop, and deliver complex power system study & planning projects for diverse clients.
• Perform load-flow, short-circuit, transient stability, electromagnetic transient and other analyses.
• Conduct planning/system performance studies and transient studies per standards and good engineering practice.
• Deliver reports and deliverables meeting industry standards, with QA on client reports.
• Coordinate with Arcadis Business Units for cross staffing and develop project scopes, budgets, and proposals.
