Job summary

Arcadis is seeking a Sr. Power System Planning & Study Engineer to join the Power Delivery team in the USA. The role focuses on coordinating and developing a power system planning and study group, including HVDC/feasibility studies and interconnections.

The candidate should have a strong background in power system analysis, familiarity with North American grid operators, and experience with PSS/E/PSCAD. Travel up to 25% may be required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering; Master’s degree preferred.
• Minimum 8 years of direct experience with power system study analysis and planning.
• Proficient with PSS/E, PSCAD and PSS/E software package; experience with PSLF, DigSILENT, or DSA Tools is desirable.
• Familiar with North American Market Operators (MISO, PJM, NE-ISO, NY-ISO, CAISO, ERCOT, SSP, AESO, IESO) policies and interconnection criteria.

Responsibilities

• Support and deliver complex power system study and planning projects for varied clients.
• Perform power system analysis including load-flow, short-circuit, transient stability, and small-signal stability.
• Conduct planning and transient studies to meet standards and good engineering practice.
• Deliver thorough reports, QA client deliverables, and manage project scopes and budgets.
• Coordinate with Arcadis teams for cross-staffing opportunities and collaboration.
