Job summary

Arcadis seeks a Sr. Power System Planning & Study Engineer to join the Power Delivery team in the USA. The role coordinates and develops power system planning studies, including HVAC/HVDC planning, interconnection studies, and transient analyses for North America and beyond.

You will collaborate with Substation, Transmission, Protection & Control, and Renewables teams, shaping project scopes, budgets, and client deliverables while traveling up to 25% to client sites.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering (Master’s preferred).
• 8+ years of direct power system study analysis and planning experience.
• Proficient with PSS/E, PSCAD, and PSS/E suite including load-flow/short-circuit/transient stability.
• Familiar with North American market operators (MISO, PJM, NE-ISO, NY-ISO, CAISO, ERCOT, SSP, AESO, IESO).

Responsibilities

• Support, develop, and deliver complex power system study and planning projects for diverse clients.
• Perform load-flow, short-circuit, transient stability, EMTE, small-signal stability analyses, and system impact studies.
• Conduct planning/performance studies for compliance with standards and good engineering practice.
• Deliver accurate reports and client deliverables meeting industry standards.
• QA on client reports and cross-unit coordination for staffing and scope.
• Develop project scopes, budgets, and proposals.
