Job summary

Eaton Corporation's Electrical Engineering Services & Systems (EESS) team seeks a Power Systems Controls Engineer to develop, test, and implement PLC/HMI software for power transfer applications and related protection schemes. You will work with field engineers and designers to meet customer specifications.

The role requires strong experience in power distribution controls, a bachelor’s or master’s degree in engineering, and a valid driver’s license.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering with 7+ years power distribution controls experience, or Master’s degree with 5+ years, or 10 years total experience.
• Current, unrestricted driver’s license with satisfactory MVR; background check required.

Responsibilities

• Create, modify, test, and deploy PLC/HMI software for Power Transfer applications (e.g., Main-Tie-Main, Paralleling Switchgears).
• Follow customer and internal specifications for project implementation.
• Select components and create bill of materials.
• Provide sketches and direction to Electrical Designers for project drawings.
• Prepare submittals, Sequence of Operation (SOO), and test procedures.
• Assist with factory testing and field start-ups as required.
• Troubleshoot systems that are not functioning properly.
