Job summary

Eaton Corporation’s Electrical Engineering Services & Systems (EESS) team seeks an experienced Power Systems Controls engineer to develop, test, and implement control software for PLCs, HMIs, and related equipment. The role supports power transfer applications and requires working with customer specifications in a hybrid office environment.

Applicants should have a strong background in power distribution controls, hands-on testing, and familiarity with protection relays and data concentrators.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering with power distribution controls experience or Master’s degree with relevant experience or 10+ years in power distribution controls.
• Unrestricted driver’s license and clean Motor Vehicle Record; background check will be conducted.

Responsibilities

• Create, modify, test, and deploy software for PLCs and HMIs for Power Transfer applications.
• Follow customer and internal specifications for project implementation.
• Select components and create bill of materials.
• Provide sketches and direction to Electrical Designers for project drawings.
• Prepare submittals, Sequence of Operation (SOO), and test procedures.
• Assist with factory testing and field start-ups as required.
• Troubleshoot systems not functioning properly.
