Job summary

Eaton's Electrical Engineering Services & Systems (EESS) team is seeking an engineer to develop, test, and implement power systems control solutions. The role involves PLC and HMI software for power transfer applications, with a hybrid work arrangement (~35% on-site).

The PSC group provides integrated systems across major vendors. Qualified candidates have 7+ years in power distribution controls (or 5+ with a Master’s, or 10+ total experience) and a valid driver’s license.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering with 7+ years in power distribution controls
• Master’s degree in Engineering with 5+ years in power distribution controls
• 10+ years of power distribution controls experience
• Valid driver’s license with clean MVR and driver record check
• PE License (preferred)
• Knowledge of Power Monitoring and Control Systems and protocols (Modbus, DNP3, IEC-61850)
• Candidates residing near listed locations are preferred

Responsibilities

• Create, modify, test, and deploy software for PLCs and HMIs for Power Transfer applications
• Follow customer specifications and internal specs for project implementation
• Select components and create bill of materials
• Provide sketches, mark-ups, and direction to Electrical Designers to develop project drawings
• Prepare customer submittals, SOO, and test procedures
• Assist with factory testing and field start-ups as required
• Troubleshoot systems that are not functioning properly
