Job summary

Eaton Corporation’s Electrical Engineering Services & Systems (EESS) team is seeking an engineer to lead development, testing, and implementation of power systems control solutions using PLCs, HMIs, and protection relays. This hybrid role involves collaboration across disciplines and travel as needed.

The role requires strong experience in power distribution controls, with a path to leadership on projects involving Modbus, DNP3, and IEC-61850 protocols.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Engineering with power distribution controls experience.
Driver’s license required; clean MVR per policy.
Knowledge of power monitoring and control systems and protocols is preferred.

Responsibilities

Create, modify, test, and deploy software for PLCs and HMIs for power transfer applications.
Follow customer and internal specifications for project implementation.
Select components and create bill of materials.
Provide sketches and direction to Electrical Designers for project drawings.
Prepare submittals, SOO, and test procedures.
Assist with factory testing and field start-ups as required.
Troubleshoot systems that are not functioning properly.
