Job summary

Eaton Corporation’s Electrical Engineering Services & Systems (EESS) team is seeking a power systems controls engineer to develop, test, and implement PLC and HMI software for power transfer applications such as Main-Tie-Main, Main-Gen, and related configurations.

The role is hybrid with about 35% on-site work; salary range noted, with paid overtime and a company vehicle. Ideal candidates have extensive power distribution controls experience and relevant licensing; PE license preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering with 7+ years of power distribution controls experience, or Master’s with 5+ years, or 10+ years total.
• Current, unrestricted driver’s license with a satisfactory Motor Vehicle Record; background check on hire.
• PE License preferred.

Responsibilities

• Create, modify, test, and deploy software for PLCs and HMIs for Power Transfer applications.
• Follow customer specifications for project implementation.
• Select components and create bill of materials.
• Provide sketches and direction to Electrical Designers for project drawings.
• Prepare customer submittals, SOO, and test procedures.
• Assist with factory testing and field start-ups.
• Troubleshoot systems that are not functioning properly.
