Job summary

Eaton Corporation’s Electrical Engineering Services & Systems (EESS) team seeks a power systems controls engineer to lead development, testing, and deployment of PLC/HMI-based solutions for power transfer applications.

The role supports a hybrid schedule (≈35% on site) with a competitive annual range and benefits, including paid overtime and a company vehicle. Work spans HMIs, PLCs, relays, and data concentrators from major OEMs.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering with a minimum 7 years of power distribution controls experience or Master’s with at least 5 years, or 10 years of power distribution controls experience.
• Requires a current, unrestricted driver’s license and a clean Motor Vehicle Record; background check on hire.

Responsibilities

• Create, modify, test, and deploy PLC/HMI software for Power Transfer applications like Main-Tie-Main and related configurations.
• Follow customer specifications and internal specifications for project implementation.
• Select components and create bill of materials.
• Provide sketches, mark-ups, and direction to Electrical Designers to develop project drawings.
• Prepare customer submittals, SOO, and test procedures.
• Assist with factory testing and field start-ups as required.
• Troubleshoot systems that are not functioning properly.
