Job summary

Eaton Corporation is seeking an experienced engineer to develop, test, and implement power systems control solutions using PLCs, HMIs, protection relays, and data concentrators. The role is hybrid, with approximately 35% on-site work.

The Power Systems Controls group provides complete automation solutions across major HMIs, PLCs, and protective relays, supporting customers with integrated engineering services.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering with minimum 7 years of power distribution controls experience OR Master’s degree in Engineering with at least 5 years of power distribution controls experience OR a minimum 10 years of power distribution controls experience.
• This role requires a current, unrestricted driver’s license and a satisfactory Motor Vehicle Record, with a background check on hire.

Responsibilities

• Create, modify, test, and deploy software for PLCs and HMIs for Power Transfer applications.
• Follow customer and internal specifications for project implementation.
• Select components and prepare bill of materials.
• Provide sketches and direction to Electrical Designers for project drawings.
• Prepare submittals, Sequence of Operation, and test procedures.
• Assist with factory testing and field start‑ups as required.
• Troubleshoot systems to resolve malfunctions.
