Job summary

Eaton Corporation is seeking an experienced Electrical Engineer to lead development, testing, and deployment of PLC and HMI software for power transfer applications. The role is hybrid with about 35% remote work, based in the United States.

The position requires a strong background in power distribution controls, familiarity with Modbus/DNP3/IEC-61850, and the ability to coordinate with Electrical Designers. A driver’s license and safety compliance are mandatory.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering required or Master’s with relevant experience.
• Regular Driver status with unrestricted license and clean MVR.
• Minimum 7 years of power distribution controls experience for Bachelors path; 5 years for Masters; or 10 years overall.

Responsibilities

• Create, modify, test, and deploy PLC/HMI software for Power Transfer applications (Main-Tie-Main, Main-Gen, etc.).
• Follow customer and internal specifications for project implementation.
• Select components and prepare bill of materials.
• Provide sketches and direction to Electrical Designers for project drawings.
• Prepare SOO, test procedures, and customer submittals.
• Assist with factory testing and field start-ups; troubleshoot systems.
