Job summary

Eaton Corporation is seeking an experienced Power Systems Controls engineer in Maryland to design, test, and deploy PLC and HMI software for power transfer applications such as Main-Tie-Main and related configurations.

You will select components, prepare BOMs, and coordinate with Electrical Designers to develop project drawings, SOOs, and test procedures, while supporting field startups and factory testing in a safety-compliant environment.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Engineering required, with strong power distribution controls experience.
Master’s degree in Engineering is a plus with 5+ years of related experience.
Minimum 10 years of power distribution controls experience or equivalent.
Must have a current, unrestricted driver’s license and clean MVR.

Responsibilities

Create, modify, test, and deploy PLC/HMI software for power transfer apps (Main-Tie-Main, etc.).
Follow customer and internal specs for project implementation.
Select components and create BOMs.
Provide sketches and direction to Electrical Designers for drawings.
Prepare SOOs, test procedures, and submittals.
Assist with factory testing and field start-ups.
Troubleshoot systems as needed.
