Job summary

Amphenol ICC in Seattle is seeking a Senior Power Systems Architect to partner with hyperscalers and data-center OEMs, translating system-level power architectures into connector and cable power solutions. The role sits between customer engineering teams and internal product development, driving requirements and roadmap alignment.

You will own technical requirements, lead design-in activities at customer sites, and mentor junior engineers while tracking industry standards such as OCP.

Qualifications

• Bachelor or Master in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering.
• 5–8 years in power connector or systems engineering.
• Experience translating system-level power requirements into connector/cable specifications.
• High-voltage/high-current interconnect knowledge.
• Excellent written and verbal communication.
• Willingness to travel to customer/manufacturing sites.

Responsibilities

• Own the technical requirements-gathering relationship with customer teams for power architecture.
• Translate system-level power architecture into connector and cable requirements to define product development.
• Lead power architecture discussions with customer teams and present solution options.
• Partner with product engineering, manufacturing, and R&D to shape roadmap decisions.
• Develop and own technical requirement documents and specification inputs for new product development.
• Lead qualification, validation, and design-in activities at customer sites.
• Track and contribute to industry standards (e.g., OCP) affecting roadmaps.
• Deliver voice of customer insights to internal roadmap and development.
• Mentor Associate Engineers.
• Identify architecture shifts early to influence roadmap planning.
