Job summary

Amphenol Communications Solutions seeks a Senior Power Systems Architect to translate system-level power needs into connector and cable solutions. You will own customer technical requirements, lead architecture discussions, and coordinate across engineering, manufacturing, and R&D to shape power interconnect roadmaps.

You will also drive design-in activities, contribute to standards, mentor junior engineers, and travel to customer and manufacturing sites as needed.

Qualifications

• Bachelor or Master of Science in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering or related field.
• Bachelor’s degree with 5-8 years in power connector or systems engineering.
• Master’s degree with 3-6 years in power connector or related discipline.
• Experience translating system-level power architecture requirements into connector/cable specifications.
• Working knowledge of high-voltage/high-current interconnect design for data centres.
• Proven history of independently managing a customer technical relationship.
• Excellent written and verbal communication for direct customer engagement.
• Willingness to travel to customer and manufacturing sites as needed.

Responsibilities

• Own the technical requirements-gathering relationship with customer engineering teams for power architecture requirements.
• Translate system-level power architecture into connector and cable technology requirements to define product development.
• Lead power architecture discussions with customer teams, presenting solution options and roadmap alignment.
• Partner with product engineering, manufacturing, and R&D to shape roadmap decisions in response to power requirements.
• Develop and own technical requirement documents and specification inputs for new product development.
• Lead qualification, validation, and design-in activities for new power interconnect solutions at customer sites.
• Track and contribute to industry standards (e.g., OCP) that shape power delivery roadmaps.
• Deliver customer and market insights back into internal roadmap and product development.
• Mentor Associate Engineers and review their outputs.
• Identify architecture shifts to influence internal roadmap planning.
