Job summary

Arcadis is seeking a Principal System Planning and Studies Engineer to lead the Power Delivery & Renewables team and advance advanced power system planning and studies for utility and developer clients in North America.

The role combines hands-on engineering with project management, client engagement, and mentorship of the System Planning engineers, with travel up to 20% to client sites and meetings.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering required.
• Minimum 12 years in Power System Planning and Studies.
• Experience with North American grid operators and interconnection studies.
• Proficiency with PSCAD and PSS/E; familiarity with PSLF, DigSILENT, DSA Tools.
• PE License required.
• Ph.D. in Power Systems preferred.

Responsibilities

• Lead and grow the System Planning & Studies team and manage resources.
• Perform and coordinate load-flow, short-circuit, and stability analyses.
• Develop enhanced planning processes and tools for efficiency.
• Support client engagement, proposals, and project execution.
