Job summary

HDR is seeking a Power Program Manager to lead planning and execution of power infrastructure programs for our clients. The role requires a well-rounded, team-oriented professional with strong communication skills capable of delivering complex infrastructure projects.

The Program Manager will guide a multidisciplinary team, act as a trusted advisor to client leadership, and promote effective governance and team management. HDR emphasizes an employee-owned culture and career development.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Construction Management, Planning, Sciences, Business Administration, or a closely related field
  • Proven program management experience at scale with capital value thresholds as described in the posting
  • PE license and/or PMP certification preferred

Responsibilities

  • Lead multidisciplinary teams to deliver T&D, power generation, renewable energy projects.
  • Primary client contact for scope, contracts, and program performance.
  • Advise clients on technical, regulatory, strategic delivery planning and financial aspects.
  • Direct and manage HDR staff and subconsultants including engineering, controls, routing/siting, environmental, real estate, comms, data.
  • Assess staffing needs and ensure resources align with contract scope; QA/QC program.
  • Facilitate risk workshops and develop risk management plans with clients.
  • Develop program management plans, processes, and tools to drive efficiency and transparency.
  • Monitor scope, schedule and budget with project controls; adjust as needed.
  • Prepare monthly program reports and dashboards for stakeholders.
  • Collaborate with business development to identify growth opportunities.
  • Lead pursuit activities and assist with proposals (approach, staffing, fees, schedule).
  • Travel approximately 25% of the time.
