Job summary

HDR is seeking a Power Program Manager to lead planning and execution of power infrastructure programs for our clients. You will guide multidisciplinary teams, act as a trusted advisor to the client’s leadership, and ensure delivery strategies and governance align with project goals.

This role emphasizes communication, stakeholder management, and delivering complex contracts including design-build and CMAR. Travel ~25% is expected; HDR values an active, collaborative culture.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering or closely related field.
  • Master’s degree preferred: Engineering/Construction Management/Business Administration.
  • 3+ years program management experience in deputy PM role for programs with capital value >= $200M, or 5+ years PM/Controls with >= $200M, or 10+ years directing multi-disciplinary programs with >= $50M.
  • Strong leadership and ability to manage teams across locations.
  • Excellent communication; comfortable presenting to executives.
  • Experience with alternative delivery methods: DB, PDB, CMAR.
  • Familiar with PMIS, CMIS, scheduling, cost control, risk management, dashboards.

Responsibilities

  • Lead multidisciplinary teams to deliver T&D, power generation, renewable energy projects.
  • Serve as primary client contact for scope, contracts, and program performance.
  • Advise clients on technical, regulatory, strategic planning, delivery strategies, and finances.
  • Direct and manage HDR staff and subconsultants across engineering, controls, routing/siting, environment, real estate, communications, data management.
  • Assess staffing needs and secure resources; establish QA/QC program.
  • Facilitate risk workshops and develop risk management plans.
  • Develop and implement program management plans, processes, and tools.
  • Monitor scope, schedule and budget with project controls; adjust as needed.
  • Prepare monthly program reports and dashboards; communicate with clients and stakeholders.
  • Collaborate with business development to identify growth prospects; support proposals.
  • Travel approximately 25%.
