Job summary

HDR is seeking a Power Program Manager to lead the planning and execution of power infrastructure programs. You will head a diverse team of technical and non-technical professionals and act as a trusted advisor to the client leadership, guiding delivery strategies and governance.

The role emphasizes strong communication, risk management, and coordination across HDR staff and subconsultants, with travel expected ~25% and a focus on delivering reliable, resilient energy projects.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Construction Management, Planning, Sciences, Business Administration, or closely related field.

Responsibilities

  • Lead multidisciplinary teams to deliver T&D, power generation, renewable energy projects to client-defined outcomes.
  • Serve as primary client contact for scope, contracts, and program performance.
  • Advise clients on technical, regulatory, strategic planning, and delivery strategies for power programs.
  • Direct and manage HDR staff and subconsultants across engineering, routing and siting, environmental, real estate, communications, and data management.
  • Assess staffing needs and secure resources to meet contract scope; monitor QA/QC and team performance.
  • Facilitate risk workshops; develop risk management plans with internal risk professionals.
  • Develop program management plans, processes, and tools to drive efficiencies and transparency.
  • Monitor scope, schedule and budget with project controls; adjust as needed to meet budget.
  • Prepare monthly program reports and dashboards for internal and client stakeholders.
  • Collaborate with business development to identify growth opportunities and support proposals.
  • Travel on average 25% of the time.
