Job summary

STSI (Staffing Technical Services Inc.) is seeking a Power Engineer for Energy Storage. This position is 100% remote, focusing on delivering Battery Energy Storage System (BESS), microgrid, and IBR interconnections from concept through energization.

The ideal candidate has 5+ years in energy storage or power systems with protection and control design, a BS in Electrical Engineering, and a PE license. responsibilities span design, studies, and coordination with utilities and clients.

Qualifications

• 5+ years in energy storage or power systems with protection & control design
• BS in Electrical Engineering
• Professional Engineer (PE) license
• Experience delivering medium- to high-voltage BESS, microgrid, or IBR interconnection projects
• Hands-on protective relay experience (SEL or equivalent)
• Knowledge of LGIA/SGIA interconnection processes and requirements

Responsibilities

• Engineer BESS, microgrid, and IBR systems from design through energization
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to integrate designs with substation and grid interconnections
• Support interconnection studies, protection philosophies, and IEEE 1547/2800 compliance
• Create BESS one-line diagrams, layouts, and AC/DC schematics
• Prepare drawings, shop drawings, and logs; manage project documentation
• Assist in field engineering, commissioning, and issue resolution
