Job summary

SB Energy is seeking a Sr. Energy Storage Engineer to lead utility-scale battery storage design, optimization, and permitting.

You will guide cross-functional teams across engineering, construction, and commissioning to ensure safe, reliable, and cost-effective deployment. Ideal candidates have 8+ years in BESS/ECI projects, strong knowledge of interconnection, IEEE/NEC/NFPA standards, and experience with ETAP/PSCAD/PSSE/PowerFactory.

Qualifications

• Requires 8+ years in utility-scale BESS with EPC/owner's engineering.
• ABET-accredited electrical engineering degree; MS/PE preferred.
• Strong experience across lifecycle from design to operation and commissioning.

Responsibilities

• Create and maintain engineering standards, specs, and design criteria for energy storage.
• Lead technical reviews of utility-scale BESS projects through development, design, construction, and handover.
• Review EPC deliverables, drive design optimization for cost, schedule, reliability.
