Job summary

SOLV Energy, Inc. is seeking a Senior BESS Engineer to lead the design, development, and optimization of battery energy storage systems. This fully remote role focuses on delivering high-performance, safe storage solutions for utility-scale projects nationwide.

The candidate will guide project teams, review studies, and ensure technical excellence across electrical, civil, and SCADA domains, while mentoring junior staff and supporting business development.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or related field; master's preferred.
• 5+ years in electrical engineering focused on BESS, renewables, or power systems.
• Expert in BESS design, integration, and optimization including lithium-ion batteries, inverters, and BMS.
• Familiarity with NEC, IEEE, NESC, NFPA and utility standards.
• Proven project leadership and cross-functional collaboration.

Responsibilities

• Act as SME for BESS engineering scopes and guide project teams.
• Lead design and engineering of BESS ensuring contract and AHJ compliance.
• Review feasibility studies and system sizing for optimal BESS configurations.
• Coordinate with engineers across electrical, civil, SCADA, and HV scopes.
• Mentor junior engineers and support business development with technical input.
