Job summary

WSP USA seeks a Project Manager for Power Delivery to lead high voltage/substation and transmission projects across multiple Northeast locations. You will manage scope, schedule, budgets and risk while coordinating with clients and internal teams.

This role requires 12+ years in Power Delivery, a Bachelor’s in Engineering or related field, and strong leadership and communication skills. Occasional travel and collaboration with a wide engineering staff are expected.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's in Engineering, Construction Management or other related field within the Power & Energy Market.
• 12 years of relevant post-education experience in a project management role within the Power Delivery/Utility Industry
• Minimum of 5 years applicable industry experience working and/or providing engineering services for IOUs, IPPs, Co-Ops, Munis, etc.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience leading engineering and/or construction teams on medium to large electrical utility scale clients for high voltage and EHV Substation and Transmission projects.
• Knowledge of project management processes and tools including Contract Management, External and Internal Team Meeting Management, Earned Value Management, Change Management, Risk Management, Schedule Management (Primavera P6 or equivalent), Financial Management
• Advanced proficiency with MS Office suite (Word, Excel, Visio, Project, SharePoint) and PM tools

Responsibilities

• Provide PM leadership for HV and EHV Substation and Transmission projects, overseeing design, budgets, forecasts, margins and KPIs.
• Develop strategies to engage stakeholders at all levels and report project progress.
• Support pursuit/initiation activities including Go/No-Go decisions, contract reviews, risk mitigation, pricing reviews.
• May participate in contract negotiations and client presentations.
• Oversee technical reviews and QA/QC adherence, staff selection for reviews.
• Provide inputs to multi-disciplinary teams and strategic client advice.
• Mentor staff and ensure documentation like Risk, PMP, QP, PSP, and Communications Plan are updated.
• Lead project kick-off meetings with key stakeholders.
• Coordinate resources and subcontracting with area/technical managers.
• Maintain client communications with monthly status, safety, and scope/budget updates.
• Oversee problem project reviews and recovery plans.
• Ensure regular project reporting to clients and business units; document lessons learned.
• Collaborate across disciplines to deliver trusted, future-ready solutions.
• Uphold ethical decision-making on funds, resources and conduct.
