Job summary

Jacobs seeks an Electrical SME to lead high‑level power systems for hyperscale data center programs. You will shape MV/LV distribution, UPS topology, generator paralleling, transfer switching, PDUs, and busways, while mentoring engineers and upholding NEC and industry standards.

This senior, client‑facing role blends technical authority with business development, reviews calculations and drawings, supports commissioning, and travels to project sites as needed under a hybrid work model.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering required; master's preferred.
• Active Electrical PE licensure in any U.S. state; NCEES reciprocal licensure.
• 20+ years in electrical engineering with 15+ years in data center/mission-critical design.
• Proficiency with ETAP/SKM/EasyPower for short-circuit, coordination, arc flash, and load flow.
• Knowledge of NEC, NFPA 70/110/72, IEEE 3000-series, NESC, IEC, and Uptime Institute criteria.
• Experience with design tools AutoCAD Electrical and Revit MEP; design-build/ECM delivery.

Responsibilities

• Lead upfront power systems planning for hyperscale clients and MV/LV distribution strategies.
• Drive power chain from MV switchgear to UPS, generator paralleling, transfer switches, PDUs, and busways.
• Provide technical governance, review calculations, drawings, and submittals for QA and code compliance.
• Mentor electrical engineers and participate in IEEE, NFPA, AFCOM, and Uptime Institute activities.
• Balance strategic initiatives with hands-on execution, and support commissioning and IST of critical power systems.
