Job summary

Jacobs is seeking an Electrical SME to lead power systems for hyperscale data centers, shaping MV/LV distribution, UPS topology, and generator paralleling. You will guide technical deliverables, mentor the team, and represent Jacobs in industry forums.

The role requires extensive experience in mission-critical facilities, active PE licensure, and proficiency with ETAP, SKM, and EasyPower, with a strong track record in design-build environments.

Qualifications

• ABET-accredited B.S. in Electrical Engineering; PE license active is required.
• 15+ years in mission-critical data center/advanced tech facility design.
• 20+ years in professional electrical engineering.
• Proficiency with ETAP/SKM/EasyPower for short-circuit and arc flash analyses.
• Knowledge of NEC/NFPA/IEEE standards and related codes.

Responsibilities

• Lead upfront power systems planning for hyperscale clients (MV/LV distribution, redundancy strategies).
• Drive power chain from MV switchgear to UPS, generators, transfer switches, and busways; conduct studies.
• Develop and maintain Jacobs' electrical standards, specs, and calculation libraries.
• Provide technical governance across teams; support commissioning and IST of critical power systems.
• Mentor engineers; engage in industry standards and external thought leadership.
