Job summary

Jacobs is seeking an Electrical SME to lead power systems strategy for hyperscale data center programs, spanning MV/LV distribution, UPS topology, and generator paralleling. You will set technical direction, mentor engineers, and engage clients in workshops and RFP responses.

You will shape electrical infrastructure from utility interconnection to IT equipment receptacle, ensuring design intent, safety, and performance across Tier III/IV facilities.

Qualifications

• ABET-accredited electrical engineering degree required.
• PE license active in at least one U.S. state; license is a condition of employment.
• Experience: 20+ years in electrical engineering with 15+ years in mission-critical data centers or advanced tech facilities.

Responsibilities

• Lead upfront power systems planning for hyperscale clients, defining MV/LV distribution and redundancy strategies.
• Manage full power chain, from MV switchgear to UPS, generators, and transfer switching; oversee power systems studies.
• Provide technical governance across disciplines, review calculations, drawings, and submittals for compliance and quality.
• Mentor engineers and contribute to industry standards and external publications.
