Job summary

Volkert Inc. seeks an experienced Senior Engineer/Construction Manager to support the Maritime and Port service line in the Gulf Coast Region.

Location can be any Gulf Coast office in Alabama, Mississippi, or Louisiana with regional travel and remote work as needed. The role provides technical design, project management, and construction management for port/maritime projects, including terminal expansion, dredging, wharf upgrades, rail and utility work, and regulatory permitting.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Civil/Port Engineering Construction Management/Architecture/Engineering or related field.
• Minimum 10+ years of relevant design and construction project management experience.
• Licensed Professional Engineer (P.E.).
• Ability to pass pre-employment drug screen and hold a valid driver's license.

Responsibilities

• Lead design engineer for port/maritime projects from concept through design and bid package preparation.
• Manage and deliver construction of port and maritime projects.
• Act as client and consultant liaison during project execution.
• Prepare Project Execution Plan and conduct kick-off meetings.
• Maintain project documentation, schedules, budgets, and progress reports.
