Job summary

Volkert is seeking a Senior Engineer/Construction Manager to lead port and maritime projects across the Gulf Coast. The role requires delivering design, procurement, construction management, and client coordination for complex terminal and rail-related work.

The position supports work in Alabama, Mississippi, or Louisiana offices with regional travel and occasional remote work as needed. A PE license and 10+ years of experience are required.

Qualifications

• Minimum 10+ years of design and construction project management experience.
• PE licensure is required.
• Bachelor's degree in Civil/Port Engineering or Construction Management.
• Ability to pass a pre-employment drug screen and maintain safe work environment.
• Valid driver's license and clean MVR.

Responsibilities

• Serve as Lead Design engineer for port and maritime projects from concept through design.
• Manage and deliver construction of port and maritime projects.
• Act as Owner's representative with clients, consultants, and contractors.
• Develop Project Execution Plans and schedules to ensure timely completion.
• Lead kickoff meetings and ensure quality control documentation.
• Maintain daily field contact and coordinate with rail operators and safety protocols.
