Job summary

Volkert Inc. is seeking a Senior Engineer/Construction Manager to support our Maritime and Port service line across the Gulf Coast region.

The role will be located in Volkert's Gulf Coast offices in AL, MS, or LA with regional travel and remote work as needed. The candidate will lead port design, construction management, and coordination with rail, utilities and regulators, ensuring project execution from concept through post-construction while maintaining client communications and project

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Civil or Port Engineering or related field.
• Broad design and construction management background on large port/maritime projects.
• 10+ years of design and construction PM experience; PE license.
• Licensed Professional Engineer (P.E.).
• Estimating and/or scheduling experience a plus.
• Ability to pass pre-employment drug screen and maintain safety.
• Valid driver's license and satisfactory MVR.

Responsibilities

• Serve as Lead Design engineer for port/maritime projects from concept through design and bid package.
• Manage and deliver construction of port/maritime projects.
• Act as Owner's Representative with clients, consultants, and contractors.
• Prepare a Project Execution Plan and staffing requirements.
• Conduct project kick-off meetings and ensure QA/QC reviews.
