Uber is seeking a senior software engineer for the Membership team in Sunnyvale, CA. You will architect next-generation member experiences and design scalable, reliable systems powering Uber One across UberEats and UberX.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of work experience building large scale software systems.
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
• Strong hands-on technical skills in one or more programming languages (Go, Java, Python, Kotlin, Swift, C++).
• Deep understanding of software engineering fundamentals (algorithms, data structures, distributed systems, system design, architecture).
• Proven experience owning critical, large-scale platforms and infra services; ability to identify architectural gaps and improve developer velocity.
• Proven ability to lead technical projects end-to-end through lifecycle stages (inception to production).
• Experience defining testing, monitoring, and alerting standards and handling incidents at scale.
• Demonstrated leadership in building relationships with internal and external stakeholders to align on a technical vision.

Responsibilities

• Identify new opportunities to evolve the Uber One program across UberEats and UberX.
• Collaborate with engineers, PMs, Data Science, and Designers to build and optimize products used by millions of members.
• Architect robust, scalable systems to support initiatives across UberEats and UberX.
• Drive technical strategy for platform evolution, microservices, and API design.
• Cultivate engineering culture to improve velocity and quality across the team.
