Job summary

Uber is seeking a Senior/Staff Software Engineer for the Membership org in San Francisco. You will architect scalable member experiences powering Uber One across UberEats and UberX, partnering with engineers, PMs, and designers to deliver impactful products for millions of members.

The role focuses on platform evolution, robust system design, and driving engineering excellence with a strong emphasis on observability and incident response. On-site collaboration and leadership are required.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of software engineering experience building large-scale systems.
• Bachelor's (or higher) in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field.

Responsibilities

• Identify opportunities to evolve Uber One across UberEats and UberX.
• Collaborate with engineers, PMs, data science and designers to build and optimize products used by millions.
• Architect robust, scalable systems and guide trade-offs between design options.
• Drive platform evolution, microservices architecture, and API design for future needs.
• Own architecture reviews, reduce technical debt, and improve observability and incident response.
