Job summary
Uber in New York is seeking a Senior Software Engineer for the Membership org to architect next-generation member experiences and scalable platform systems powering Uber One across UberEats and UberX. You will lead cross-functional design, drive platform evolution, and mentor engineers while delivering high-impact, reliable services at scale.
In this role you will partner with Sr Staff/Director+ levels to evolve the tech stack, establish standards for testing, monitoring, and incident response,
Qualifications
- 10+ years of software engineering experience building large-scale systems.
- Expert proficiency in programming languages (Go, Java, Python, Kotlin, Swift, C++).
- Strong fundamentals in algorithms, data structures, distributed systems, and architecture.
- Proven experience owning critical platforms and reducing technical debt.
Responsibilities
- Partner with senior staff and engineers across the org to identify opportunities for Uber One.
- Design, build, and optimize products used by millions of members globally.
- Architect robust, scalable systems and drive platform evolution and API design.
- Lead architecture reviews, monitor incidents, and raise the bar for observability.
- Mentor staff and senior engineers with technical guidance.
